Former SIE Japan Studio executive producer and external production director, Masami Yamamoto, has formed a new developent studio following his departure from the company.
Yamamoto-san, who worked on oddball title Tokyo Jungle, has established EPIGRAsm, and no, it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke either, despite the unusual title.
Speaking on Twitter (thanks to Gematsu for the translation), he commented:
I apologize if this sounds like an April Fools’ joke, but on March 31, I established the company EPIGRAsm. I’ve had the privilege of living life through the things I love, so from now on I would like to ‘live with the people I love’ as a driving principle. I’ll continue to do my best in all areas including game production!
In addition to his work on Tokyo Jungle, Yamamoto also contributed the the likes of Bloodborne Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars and others.

Sony Japan recently restructured to focus on Team Asobi, who works on the Astro Bot franchise. Effectively this means the SIE Japan Studio we know and love is no more, and a number of major employees have been departing the company over the past few months.
