Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Games have officially announced Tomb Raider Catalyst, the next all-new instalment in iconic adventure franchise which is coming to consoles and PC in 2027.

According to the press blurb, Tomb Raider Catalyst will take place in the wake of a mythical cataclysm that has unleashed ancient secrets and awakened mysterious guardian forces. This brand-new instalment in the near-30-year-old franchise will take protagonist Lara Croft to Northern India, and has been in development for quite a few years at the point with Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Games.
This is the first time we’ve seen the new Tomb Raider game in action since development was announced back in 2022, and up until now all we knew on the game was that it would take the form of a single-player, narrative-driven adventure title. We also got a look at the new redesign for Lara Croft last year, but never any actual footage.
Tomb Raider is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, with the original entry in the series launching in late 1996 for the Sega Saturn, followed by PC and PlayStation. However, it would be Sony’s console that the franchise would become synonymous with, as Tomb Raider II and Tomb Raider III were PlayStation console exclusives that cemented Lara as 90s gaming icon.
Tomb Raider Catalyst launches in 2027 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
