Tony Hawk Says ‘There Will Be A Future’ As Pro Skater Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary

Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk has promised ‘there will be a future’ as the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise marked its 25th anniversary over the weekend.

Speaking on Instagram, Hawk was careful not to give too much away, but did give hope that we may yet see something from the Pro Skater franchise down the line. “I’m not supposed to tease anything else about the future of the series; but there will be a future,” he teased.

If you’ve been keeping up with news on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, then you’ll recall that Hawk recently said that he had been talking to Activision again ahead of the series’ 25th anniversary. There’s no official details about a revival of the franchise available yet, but Hawk’s comments do give us hope that something may happen.

Vicarious Visions worked on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 back in 2020, although Hawk later claimed that there were plans to produce remakes of the third and fourth games, too. However, these plans fell through after Vicarious was assimilated by Activision.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was originally released for the PSOne back in September 1999, and later received ports for the Dreamcast, Game Boy Color, and Nintendo 64.
