Torment Tides of Numenera on PS4: 5 reasons to get excited

From the creators of Wasteland 2 and the original Fallout series comes a new entry from the California based studio inXile; Torment Tides of Numenera has been officially announced for PS4!

Any old school RPG fan will remember the classic Planescape: Torment from the late 90’s and recall how much of an impact it had on the genre. A mixture of Baldur’s Gate and Fallout – together with scenes that wouldn’t be out of place from an H R Giger painting – the game crept onto our PC’s and delivered an entirely new experience. Now that Torment Tides is edging closer to its 2017 release date, here is a list of what we are most excited about for:

Storyline: Planescape: Torment had an amazing storyline which kept you gripped throughout the entire adventure and now, with one of the original team members, Colin McComb, leading the storyline it is definitely shaping up to be something special.

Dialogue: Fuelled by its unique narrative, we are looking forward to the character interactions based on a ‘dialogue tree system’ where your decisions either make or break a conversation.

Soundtrack: Already available to listen to online, the official Torment Tides of Numera soundtrack is a balance of creepy effects and jungle drums which will really come into their own whilst in game.

Collector’s edition: Who doesn’t love a good collector’s edition? According to the official website the bundle will include a ‘Printed game manual, cloth map, printed concept art book, CD soundtrack by Mark Morgan, your name in the game’s credits, and much more! Note: version pictured is only a mock up, final version may look different’.

Combat system: Due to a new environment when compared to Wasteland 2, the combat will hopefully offer us a unique take on the traditional swords, shields and magic.
