Torment: Tides of Numenera patch to fix performance issues

torment tides of numenera patch update

InXile Entertainment has confirmed that a Torment: Tides of Numenera patch to fix outstanding performance issues will be available shortly.

Though many players are said to have enjoyed Tides of Numenera without issue, in our review explained some of the performance-related problems we encountered.

“Load times are terribly long, and overall performance is janky. While walking in basic zones–even low-populated areas–there’s frame popping and input delay,” writes Senior Editor, Tim Nunes.

Via the official Facebook page, inXile states that it is now addressing concerns and a Tides of Numenera update will be issued.

“Though many of our players have finished the game without issues on all platforms, a few players on consoles have reported that they are running into performance drops,” reads the Facebook post. “We have heard your feedback and want to assure you we are already investigating these reports and looking into solutions.

Currently, we’ve identified that performance drops can occur in some of the game areas that have more characters and visual effects, and can also be triggered by background memory cleanup while playing. If you have any specific feedback about how we can improve, such as certain locations or situations you have experienced trouble with, please let us know and we’ll mark those for investigation.

We are currently working on an update to solve this issue as soon as possible, and will keep you informed. We hope you enjoy the engrossing story and world of Torment. We appreciate your feedback and involvement thus far!”

A release date for the Tides of Numenera update has yet to be confirmed.
