Bungie has revealed that players will be able to transfer their characters from Destiny into its sequel.
Speaking with IGN, Bungie Community Manager David Dague confirmed the news, explaining that players get very attached to their characters.
“For Destiny 2, the idea is that the Guardian that you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure,” said Dague. “If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time.”
Bungie has a ten-year plan for Destiny, with the original vision being four major titles produced before 2023, as well as extra downloadable content in between launches. The first expansion for Destiny, named The Dark Below, launches on December 9 and includes new maps and missions. Another expansion, House of Wolves, will launch next year.
A release date for Destiny 2 has yet to be confirmed.
