Sony has confirmed that a new update for PlayStation Home will incorporate Trophy support.
“PlayStation Home v1.86 coming on Weds 12 March, introduces Trophies! *ping*,” wrote community boss, Chris Owen, on Twitter (via EuroGamer).
PlayStation Home is the brainchild of former Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS) chief Phil Harrison, and was formally announced at GDC in 2007. The idea sprung from a 2D online lobby for PlayStation 2 gangster romp, The Getaway: Black Monday.
The service launched in Winter 2008 and didn’t quite take off in the way Sony had hoped, though nonetheless attracted a loyal following and spawned numerous updates.
It remains unknown if PS Home will make the transition to PS4.
