Voice actor Troy Baker has revealed that he opted to play Assassin’s Creed before Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, despite the Naughty Dog action-adventure title being recommended to him by a friend.
Speaking to Game Informer alongside his Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End co-star, Nolan North, Baker described his first experience with the PlayStation 3 and his eventual appreciation for Nathan Drake’s treasure hunting exploits.
"A buddy of mine let me borrow his PS3, and he said there’s a game you’ve got to play; it was Uncharted. And so I was like, thank you so much for the PS3, and I took it from him, I put it in my room, and I did exactly what I should’ve done, which is I went out, and I got Assassin’s Creed!"
It wasn’t until he finished Assassin’s Creed however that Baker went on to play Drake’s Fortune, which admittedly "blew [his] mind" after spending time with the game. He also heaped praise on the motion capture and voice acting work, describing himself as an “instant fan” of North.
Uncharted 4 is due out exclusively on PlayStation 4 later this year, with Baker portraying Drake’s older brother, Sam.
