Ubisoft Confirms It Is ‘Actively Working’ On The Driver Franchise, But Live-Action Series Is Dead

Ubisoft has revealed that its live-action series based on Driver has been cancelled, but the publisher has confirmed it’s still actively working on the franchise.

Back in 2021 the company announced that it had parented with Binge for a Driver live-action series, but told Game File recently that the project is no longer in the works. A spokesperson for Ubisoft had the following to say:

We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series. We are actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise and can’t wait to share more information in the future.

The Driver franchise hasn’t seen a new mainline instalment since 2011’s Driver: San Francisco. The series launched with the original game in June 1999, and the franchise has sold over 16 million units worldwide as of 2011.
