Assassin’s Creed publisher Ubisoft has taken the next step in its support of blockchain technology by becoming a corporate baker for the Tezos ecosystem.
And no, that’s not a typo for corporate backer; Baker is the term used by Tezos for a node that validates any transactions that happen on its blockchain, with corporate bakers being those operated by larger companies.
With this move, Ubisoft joins a network of nodes via its Strategic Innovation Lab, which has been working with the France-based R&D centre Nomadic Labs.
Previously, Ubisoft partnered with Belgian Pro League for a blockchain-based fantasy football title known as One Shot League. In addition, it also helped to establish the Blockchain Gaming Alliance and teamed up with Ultra, a blockchain distribution platform.
