Ubisoft Milan, the developer behind Mario + Rabbids, has revealed in a series of now-removed job ads that it is staffing up for a ‘AAA’ Rayman game.

Ubisoft Milan is seeking a talented 3D Gameplay Animator to be involved in the production of a prestigious AAA title for the Rayman brand. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and content of gameplay animation assets align with the game’s vision.

Plans for the future of Rayman were first laid out by Ubisoft last year, when it was now exploring a possible revival of the franchise with two studios — Milan and Montpellier. Michel Ancel, the creator of the Rayman series, was announced as being a consultant on the project.
Interestingly, back in October last year it was rumoured that a Rayman Remake was in the pipeline at Ubisoft Milan under the working title Project Steambot. Could this be the same project that the Milan team is hiring for? It sounds like it, but nothing official has been confirmed, so we’ll have to wait and see.
