Ubisoft Reportedly Set To Bring 60 FPS Update To Assassin’s Creed Titles

Speaking on the one-year anniversary episode of Insider Gaming Weekly, Tom Henderson has claimed that part of Ubisoft’s upcoming pipeline is to start rolling out 60 FPS updates for the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Last week, the troubled publisher, which recently announced a major company reset that saw the cancellation of six games and a further seven delayed, rolled out 60 FPS updates for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Far Cry 3, and Far Cry Primal. Now, Henderson has said Assassin’s Creed is next in line, with 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity likely the first entry to be patched to 60 FPS.

Here’s the full quote from Henderson:

Just quickly, going back to ongoing projects at Ubisoft, obviously they’re just done the Far Cry 60 FPS rollout, right, I think they’re now starting that with Assassin’s Creed, and I believe Unit might be one of the first ones to get a 60 FPS update.

Ubisoft had previously released a 60 FPS update for 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in November 2024, which was one of the few PS4 games that encountered some issues while running via PS5’s backwards compatibility feature. Indeed, it will be good to see many of the other Assassin’s Creed titles receive the same treatment, so let’s hope Henderson is on the ball with this one.
