Sony’s PS5 enjoyed huge success during the Black Friday week in the UK, with the console having its biggest sales week outside of its November 2020 launch.
Black Friday week in the UK was the biggest sales week for PS5 outside of its launch week. It was the No.3 biggest week for Xbox Series S and X, too. Xbox Series X and PS5’s average selling priced dropped below £400 for the first time.
The PS5 has been seeing massive success this year thanks to the console finally being available at retailers, with the system having been plagued by major stock shortages since launch. In fact, PS5 sales have been doing so well, that in certain parts of Europe, it has been outselling the Xbox Series X/S by at least 7:1.
Sony launched the PS5 Slim last month, which is a lighter and slightly thinner version of the launch mode, which will eventually become the only version of the console available once stock of the standard version has been depleted.
