Christopher Dring has revealed on Twitter that the PS5 has now overtaken the Nintendo Switch in the UK to become the best-selling console of 2022 so far, thanks to a significant rise in stock during August.
PS5 stock jumped by 56% last month in comparison to July, which was a pretty dry month for home consoles.

The PS5 was released in November 2020 in major markets including the US, UK and Europe, although stock shortages have plagued the console ever since, largely due to the limited supply of key internal components brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sony announced during its latest financial briefing over the summer that the PS5 has shipped 21.7 million units worldwide.
The console has seen a number of major exclusive first-party titles since its launch, including The Last Of Us: Part I, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West.
