Uncharted demo now works in all regions

We originally reported that the Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune demo which released last Thursday in North American territories was region locked, and therefore wouldn’t work on anything but actual North American PS3s. Later, it was revealed the demo would be hitting European shores on November 22nd – about two weeks prior to the title’s release in European territories. Now we have even better news for you.

The Uncharted demo that you’ve all been itching to get yours hands on is now working on all PS3 consoles, regardless of territory. Christophe Balestra, Co-President Naughty Dog, reported on the PlayStation.Blog:

"We absolutely did not plan the demo to be region locked. As soon as we figured out the problem existed, Sam Thompson called me and I jumped into my car, drove to the office and fixed it right away. It’s an honest mistake and we didn’t try to prevent anybody from enjoying the Uncharted demo. I feel even more sorry because most of the people who experienced the problem are in Europe and I’m European myself."

We already had an incredible amount of respect for the guys over at Naughty Dog, but after this, we have even more. In addition, this is some crazy sort of verification that while it’s not "technically" allowed to have PSN accounts outside of your region, it really isn’t all that bad after all. Stay tuned for our Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune review soon.
