Uncharted movie news: These two stars would be ideal, says Holland
Uncharted movie star Tom Holland, who will be playing Nathan Drake, has revealed that he’s got two actors in mind to portray Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan in the upcoming action-adventure flick.
Speaking during an interview with Yahoo Movies, Holland, who is also fronting the new Spider-Man film from Marvel Studios this summer, said that he thinks Chris Pratt and Jake Gyllenhaal would be an ideal fit for the role of the cigar-smoking, wise-cracking mentor.

“I think it could be cool, because if it was an older movie I would say that Chris should play Nathan, but I think he would be a good Sully and I love working with Chris,” said Holland, who also said Gyllenhaal “could be really cool” in the role.
Elsewhere, the Billy Elliot star also revealed how he pitched the idea of a film starring a younger Nathan Drake to Sony chief Tom Rothman, saying that he “had the idea that maybe a young Nathan Drake would be something that audiences would be very interested in.”
The Uncharted movie is currently in pre-production, with Holland’s casting announced just last month. Originally it was believed the film would centre around an older Nate in a similar manner to the video games, although this has now been abandoned in favor of a prequel story. The project was announced back in 2009 and has endured a numerous setbacks over the past eight years, including switching multiple directors and undergoing countless script rewrites.
The Uncharted movie earlier this year had found its director in the form of Joe Carnahan, who had finished a draft of the script, which he described as featuring a series of crazy action sequences. This was prior to Holland’s involvement however, so it is unknown if this script pertains to the young version of Nate or was based on an earlier plotline featuring a much older protagonist.
