Uncharted: The Lost Legacy release date revealed with stunning new trailer

Developer Naughty Dog has today announced the release date for its upcoming standalone Uncharted adventure, ‘The Lost Legacy’.

Announced at PlayStation Experience last year and now coming on August 22, The Lost Legacy, which is said to take around ten hours to complete – just as well because it costs $39.99 – revolves around Uncharted 2’s Chloe Frazer who enlists the help of hardened mercenary Nadine Ross (from Uncharted 4) to help find an Indian artifact and make sure it doesn’t fall into the greasy palms of war profiteer Asav. Standard Uncharted fair, that.

In addition to the release date announcement, Naughty Dog also shared an exciting new trailer from an early part of the game. Here’s the accompanying words from Naughty Dog’s own Shawn Escayg, too:

”In December we said that we’re approaching this project as a true Uncharted game—complete with its own deep narrative with complex character development, all-new destinations, refined gameplay, and blockbuster cinematic moments. We’re especially excited to have Chloe as our new protagonist and explore more of her story as she and Nadine venture across India in search of the fabled Tusk of Ganesh. To that end, we wanted to share a new scene from early on in the game as Chloe and Nadine try to unravel the clues leading to the Tusk’s location.”

Fear not, if you picked up Uncharted 4’s Digital Deluxe Edition, Explorer’s Pack, or the Triple Pack, you’ll receive Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a digital download on August 22.

Also, if you pre-order the game you’ll get a free copy of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy for PS4 – just bear in mind it’s not the remastered version that appeared on PS3.
