(UPDATE)Battlefield 1 server status: multiplayer offline

Update: 31 October 2016 – There’s currently issues with the Battlefield 1 servers with connection problems reported worldwide from around 2pm BST. Stay tuned for updates.

Update: 20 October, 2016 – The EA servers are currently experiencing issues, with the Battlefield 1 server status affected for those who have got early access to the shooter. FIFA 17 and Madden 17 are also affected for some. It doesn’t bode well for the main launch of Battlefield 1 tomorrow, October 21! EA has yet to respond.

The Battlefield 1 server status is rocky again this evening. Having been battered by an apparent DDoS attack yesterday, taking the multiplayer beta offline for over 10 hours for some players, today players have been having trouble connecting to the servers, and reports are flooding in that the game is currently inaccessible (report at 23:45pm BST/ 15.45 PT).

At least some gamers have a sense of humor about the situation.

PlayStation Universe hasn’t been able to get onto the Battlefield 1 servers in the UK for the last two hours on PS4, but there’s currently no official word on any issues via EA’s support Twitter account, while others report no problems. We believe that a bulk of the reports could be from PC beta players, though some PS4 players, including us, are certainly affected.

The EA servers down detector website shows issues for a number of players during the day, and then a spike of reports in the last hour.

The Battlefield 1 beta began yesterday and runs for nine days until September 8. We’d expect – due to the server issues – that EA will extend the beta, which includes two game modes and one map for fans to test out before the game launches on October 21, 2016.
