UPDATE:

Guerilla Games has since clarified on Twitter that the NeoGAF user was mistaken, and that the 16GB reported is merely the game installing on the PS4 hard drive. As far as we know, there is no day-one patch.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE:

Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn has had its street date broken two weeks ahead of release, resulting in a few details trickling onto the web regarding a substantial day-one patch for the hotly anticipated PlayStation 4 action-adventure game.

According to a poster on NeoGAF (via ThisGenGaming), the Horizon Zero Dawn day-one patch weighs in at around 16GB, with all difficulty modes available from the get-go: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard. This also ties in previously with what Guerrilla Games said in terms of available difficulty modes in the game.

Horizon Zero Dawn release date

Horizon Zero Dawn is scheduled for release exclusively on PS4 in the U.S. on February 28 and in Europe on March 1. The game is the first new IP from Guerrilla Games since it launched the Killzone franchise on PS2 over a decade ago, and takes place in a post-apocalyptic landscape inhabited by mechanical behemoths. Unlike Killzone, Horizon puts players in an open-world to explore, and eschews traditional gunplay in favor of more primitive weaponry as gamers control a seasoned hunter named Aloy.

Sony will release a new 1TB PS4 bundle featuring a copy of Horizon Zero Dawn to coincide with the game’s launch, and as hinted that the game may spawn a major franchise for the console maker. Horizon Zero Dawn will also support PS4 Pro to allow for a variety of enhanced features. Be sure to check out the latest screenshots here.
