UPDATE
Well, that didn’t take long. It now appears that GAME will NOT have exclusive day-one stock of PlayStation VR in the U.K. after all. An updated press release has removed all mention of exclusivity in this respect, so presumably there will be other options available to consumers.

ORIGINAL STORY
GAME has announced that it will be the only high street location that gamers will be able to pick up a PlayStation VR at launch in the U.K.
Unsurprisingly, the retailer has urged consumers to get their skates on and pre-order the device if they want to secure the new hardware on day-one, as stock is expected to sell like hot cakes.
"We are incredibly excited to partner with Sony to bring this innovative technology to the UK market and deliver the ground-breaking PlayStation VR to our customer," said GAME’s UK Retail MD, Charlotte Knight. "It’s yet another way in which we are making GAME the best place to discover innovations in gaming whilst delivering an amazing experience for our community of gamers.
"Whether for yourself or as a Christmas present, we’re sure the PlayStation VR will be in high demand – so get it while you can!"
Sony announced earlier this week at GDC that PlayStation VR will be released in October 2016, priced $399/£349. The device will be supported by around 50 titles by the end of the year, and over 230 developers from the U.S., Europe and Asia are working on projects for the new headset.
The format holder has also confirmed that it will be selling PS VR at a profit from day-one, and has also stressed that developers who pitch games for the headset below 60fps will likely get rejected.
