Valorant Is Now Officially Out On PS5

Last week Riot revealed that Valorant was available on PS5 and other current-gen consoles in an open beta form, and one week later the studio revealed that the tactical hero shooter is now officially out and available now, with no beta strings attached.

The news was meant to be a surprise drop, but it was leaked hours earlier by Insider Gaming who reported that the shadow drop was coming.

For now the launch doesn’t seem to be entirely available for players worldwide as Riot clarifies this launch applies to players in Brazil, Canada, Europe, Japan and the United States.

“We’ve received so much valuable feedback from players during Limited Beta, and feel confident to deliver on our gameplay promise for console players,” said production director for Valorant Arnar Gylfason in a press release.

“Whether it’s hitting that perfect shot, executing a flawless team play, or wiping out the enemy team, we look forward to seeing console players experience the same gameplay thrill as VALORANT PC players.”

While Valorant is still a solid shooter on consoles as it is on PC, the changes made are different enough that there is no crossplay functionality between PC and console players, a choice made so that players on either platform could have the best possible experience.

As Valorant is a free-to-play title and the first live service game from Riot on consoles, if you didn’t already download it for this past week’s beta you can head to the PlayStation Store to download it now.
