Greg Donovan, senior producer at Volition Games, has revealed the studio has given the chop to competitive multiplayer modes in Saints Row: The Third as a substantial chunk of fans preferred single-player and co-op.
Apparently, the contention-filled antics of past Saints Row titles didn’t quite cut the mustard among players in comparison to the meaty main campaign.
"The majority of people wanted the single-player and co-op experience, so we’re focusing on blowing that out of the water," Donovan told Game Informer.
As such, Volition’s pulling out all the stops for The Third’s story mode and cooperative features, with full drop-in and drop-out functionality on the cards.
"We want this cohesive experience where players walk away going ‘I can’t believe I’m seeing this. I can’t believe I’m f***ing doing this,’" added Donovan.
