Volume trailer shows new enemy types and teases Andy Serkis as Gisbourne

Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell has released a brand new trailer for his non-violent, Robin-Hood inspired stealth game, Volume.

The video reveals several new enemy types as well as an audio teaser for the game’s antagonist Gisbourne, played by Andy Serkis, who is most famous for his work as Gollum in the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

The trailer starts off with the two enemy types shown in previous footage. First the Pawn – a standard guard with a regular cone of vision – and the Turret which is of course, a turret.

Other new enemy types are also revealed that look like they’ll add some really interesting elements to an already intriguing stealth title.

The Knight has a regular vision cone until he spots you and proceeds to charge in a blind rage, hoping to strike you down with a brutal melee attack.

Next up, is the Rogue, who looks to be tough to avoid as he has a full circle of vision. That means the use of cover will be extremely important to get past them.

Then there’s the Hound, which sadly isn’t you being chased by a big ol’ Clegane, but rather an actual hound that seems to sniff out the player and alert the guards to your position; so almost as good.

The enemy types were rounded out with the Archer who appears to be a sniper with a long, narrow cone of vision. It seems likely that getting seen by the Archer is going to end badly and very quickly.

The trailer then finishes with a voiceover from Serkis’ Gisbourne sounding suitably dastardly. The actor is joined by Danny Wallace, Charlie McDonnell and Jim Sterling in a rather impressive cast

Volume is due to hit both PS4 and PS Vita at some point in 2015.
