Saber Interactive’s newly-appointed Chief Business Officer, Steve Allison, has hinted that the company’s 2028 launch slate will include Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 3 and the long-delayed Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake.
The Space Marine subreddit features a response from Allison posted by user its_treebeard, which was confirmed as authentic by IGN, in regards to a question about monetising Space Marine 2 and future instalments, including Space Marine 3. The comment reveals a bit more than fans bargained for, as Allison hints that both that game and Knights of the Old Republic may launch in 2028.
My job isn’t to squeeze money from sabers products through tactics like that. We are preparing to do more self publishing and I’m here to organize the group in preparation of the lineup forming for 2028 (like when I came to telltale in 2010, also no mtx company) that includes space marine, wick, hopefully kotor remake and a few unannounced titles. As a company saber has never pursued mtx it’s not how we do our products. We sell the main game with a free dlc plan for the community and may do paid dlc (but can’t repeat the voice pack dlc issue on sm2, the team learned a lot on that and before I started here).
I didn’t work on Fortnite or Rocket League, but I did fund and oversee the launch of Alan Wake Remaster and Alan Wake 2 through the traditional 3rd part publishing team what was part of my group (also no mtx). There’s not a lot more for me to say than to assure you that’s not Sabers approach, or how I’m personally oriented leading publishing etc..Space Marine 3 is going to be all the things you love about 2 plus more that leans into the things you call out that you love about it
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake has been a long time coming, as it was originally announced way back in 2021. In March this year, Saber Interactive’s Tim Willits confirmed that the project was still very much in development, and in October last year a number of images surfaced that showcased the cancelled version of the game that Aspyr Media were working on.
As for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber Interactive announced in March 2025 that the game was in the works but didn’t confirm a release window for the project. However, the press blurb said that “Space Marine 3 is likely years away from release,” so a possible 2028 launch doesn’t seem out of the question.
