Ubisoft is reportedly working on a revival of Watch Dog Legion according to Tom Henderson, which involves a Director’s Cut-style re-release featuring a fully night mode version of the game.
Speaking on the latest episode of Insider Gaming’s podcast, Henderson, who is the same individual that claimed recently that the Watch Dogs series is effectively dead, stating that Ubisoft has been doing new motion capture work. This implies that new story content could also be part of the package, although keep in mind nothing has been announced yet.
“I’ve heard that they might do like a fully night version mode of the game or something like that,” he commented. He added that this is “kind of Ubisoft’s new thing, I think. Trying to do Director’s Cuts and new versions of games that they’ve already done. Like remasters in a sense as well, right?”
Watch Dogs Legion was released on October 29, 2020 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One, and also received PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions following the release of those consoles in November 2020. To date it’s the last entry in the franchise, and Ubisoft hasn’t announced any plans to revive the IP with a brand new instalment.
