In collaboration with VIZ Media’s Neon Alley, which is a 24-hour anime channel, Sony’s black box will be featuring an application specifically for watching anime.
Anime fans from the United States and Canda can partake of this app for the Netflix-comparable subscription price of $6.99 per month, on their PlayStation 3s. Such featured titles will be Naruto Shippuden, Inuyasha: The Final Act, and Death Note. Among those big-name animes will be a vast collection spanning different genres like "action, adventure, science fiction, supernatural, fantasy, and horror."The best part? These animes will be English dubbed and uncut!
Alongisde the Neon Alley application, Crunchyroll has also announced a similar application for streaming anime on the PS3. Current Crunchyroll subscribers will be able to log into existing accounts and reap all of the previously-available benefits of their purchased accounts. The account packages are:
– Anime membership: $6.95/month (all anime titles)
– Drama membership: $6.95/month (all drama titles)
– All-Access membership: $11.95/month
It hasn’t been scheduled for the Crunchyroll app yet, but the Neon Alley app will be hitting American and Canadian PS3s this fall. Especially since the anime selection on Netflix is hit-and-miss, these upcoming apps look intriguing.
