The Game Awards 2015 kick off later today at 9.00 pm EST/2.00am GMT, and as with last year’s bash and the Spike Video Game Awards/VGX before it, there’s going to be some show-stopping announcements and trailers to get you foaming at the mouth for next year’s gaming lineup.
As per usual, there’s a bunch of celebrities who will be doing the rounds at the show, including Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, as if we really have to explain this to you) and Keifer Sutherland (Snake from Metal Gear Solid V, and star of the brilliant ’24’), although whether or not they are related to any new announcements remains to be seen. Hideo Kojima is rumored to show up too, although we wouldn’t put too much faith into that. Check out the full list of nominees to see what games will be battling it out for Game of the Year.
The most interesting thing we know is that there will be 10 world premieres according to Geoff Keighley, one of which will be footage of Far Cry Primal, plus some new content for Mortal Kombat X. Past years have seen announcements of the likes of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Last of Us, and Batman: Arkham Knight, although quite what Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have in store for this year is anyone’s guess.
