Capcom has released a couple of brief teaser trailers for the upcoming Resident Evil 7: biohazard for your viewing pleasure.
Each one clocks in at under a minute and focuses on a particular theme; the first one highlights an ominous phone call similar to the one seen in the Resident Evil 7 demo, while the other is more gameplay-based, showcasing the protagonist equipped himself with a meaty-looking Shotgun found in an item box.

Resident Evil 2 Remake release date hinted at in new teaser?
Interestingly, the teasers may contain some hidden information beyond the upcoming Resident Evil 7. At the end of the video, there’s a date partially obscured underneath the text ‘Resident Evil,’ which many are speculating points to a 2018 release date for the in-development Resident Evil 2 Remake. This would make sense, as the 1998 survival horror title turns 20 that year.
Others feel that Capcom is hinting at a remake of Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X, due to the ‘X’ at the bottom of the video. This seems unlikely at this point, however, as Capcom hasn’t revealed any plans for further remakes, other than saying it’s considering remastering the Outbreak series.
Resident Evil 7 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on January 24, 2017. The game is fully compatible with PlayStation VR, a feature which will remain exclusive to Sony’s PS4 for one year. After that, VR functionality will be made available presumably for the PC version.
Capcom has been celebrating the 20th anniversary of Resident Evil this year with a series of behind-the-scenes videos, as well as releasing PS4 and Xbox One versions of Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6.
