Konami Digital Entertainment has lifted the wraps off the opening cinematic for Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater, which takes the original 2004 sequence and completely overhauls it with modern visuals alongside the iconic theme song performed by Cynthia Harrell.
In case you didn’t play the original version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the introduction sequence takes inspiration from the classic James Bond films of the 1960s – the decade in which the game is set – with its sweeping visuals and pulse-pounding score. Check it out below.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is scheduled for release on August 28, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game features various improvements over the original 2004 version of Snake Eater, including highly detailed damage system that depicts real-time wounds on Snake’s body, as well as clothing deterioration.
Konami has reused the original voice acting from MGS3, but it’s now delivered with high-resolution cutscenes and new character models, while the game also offers the choice of a modern of classic control scheme. As with the original 2004 stealth masterpiece, MGS Delta Snake Eater takes place during the Cold War in the 1960s, and sees Naked Snake (David Hayter) infiltrating a Russia complex to rescue a nuclear scientist.
