Earlier this week, Rockstar announced new features of the editing software for Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PS4! Since the original release of the GTA V “Rockstar Editor” was first made available in April 2015 for PC, there has been continuous and significant improvement to the program in progress. Players will be able to record footage of their high octane hi-jinks with ease, thanks to these new improvements to the recording and editing process. You will be able to start and stop the capture at will for more than 30 seconds at a time, and should be able to upload your projects directly to YouTube.
Compiling, organizing, editing and publishing this footage will be user friendly. This will make great strides to machinima storytelling.
There’s also going to be a new mode, called “Director Mode”. This mode will give the user the ability to capture the action using any actor from GTA V, but you’re not going to be limited to just the main characters. You will have access to extras, such as heist members, random people, an extensive sound library with ambient sounds in the game’s environment, and even animals. This mode will give you much more control of the scene you want to create in the environment with the ability to spawn air and water vehicles as well as the ability to freeze at the time of day you want.
Smaller improvements and add-ons include, new fonts for titles and credits, efficient copy and pasting controls, and “snapmatic integration”, which can give you even more creative options by finding your preferred camera angle for your masterpieces.
Rockstar Editor will make its way to PS4 and Xbox One next month, in September, making it available for all three platforms!
More and more options are opening up. There should be some really impressive content created with this mode in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for more hilarious, over-the-top, explosive and awesome videos for GTA V!
