Nick Burcombe, the co-creator behind the much-loved WipEout franchise, has teased some sort of announcement related to the series is coming in the next four-five weeks. While it’s not a game, it is WipEout-related, so that’s something, right?

Burcombe’s tweet reads as follows:
Soon, maybe just 4-5 weeks (Covid dependent)…I’ll be able to share something very special with you….it’s not Gamedev related before you get over-excited, but it IS Wipeout related. Can’t wait to share it with you all. You’ve seen nothing like this….wow factor 11/10
Naturally, this sparked a lot of feedback from fans trying to guess what this might be. A lot folk reckon it’s a book or anime, but whatever the case, Burcombe insists it’s “worth the wait.” Burcombe currently works at indie outfit Playrise Digital, who are the creators behind Table Top Racing.
WipEout debuted on the PlayStation back in 1995 and spawned a successful franchise that spanned Nintendo 64, PS2, PS Vita, PS3, and PS4.
