Square Enix has announced the World of Final Fantasy for the PlayStation 4 and Vita will launch on October 25 in North America and on October 28 in Europe.
Pre-orders and day-one copies will receive a bonus: Final Fantasy VII’s Sephiroth as a summon.
Announced at last year’s PlayStation E3 press conference, World of Final Fantasy follows twin protagonists Reynn and Lann as they seek out their lost memories in Grymorie, a land filled with classic Final Fantasy characters and monsters such as cactuar, chocobo, and behemoth, The twins are able to collect and raise creatures to use for battles, which use an Active Time Battle system.
The cute super-deformed/chibi character designs are by Yasuhisa Izumisawa, who worked on Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Meanwhile, the normal sized characters are designed by veteran Tetsuya Nomura, who’s handled the character designs for Kingdom Hearts and pretty much every Final Fantasy title since VI.
