Yakuza 0 is punching its way onto European PS4’s in early 2017

SEGA has announced that Yakuza 0 will be coming to Europe on PlayStation 4 in early 2017.

The publishing giant confirmed that the action-brawler prequel will be available as a digital download and physical release when it graces PAL territories nearly two years after the original Japanese version.

Yakuza 0 will feature Japanese voice acting supported by English subtitles; additional languages are not supported, however.

The game takes place seven years prior to the events of the first Yakuza title, and chronicles protagonist Kazumi Kiryu’s rise through the criminal underworld. SEGA added that "newcomers to the Yakuza series will be able to experience the action-packed, story-driven adventure from the very beginning of Kazuya’s story, one that focuses on navigating the seedy underworld of Japan while Yakuza fans will have the added joy of also getting the chance to play as long-time NPC, Majima Goro – the Mad Dog of Shimano."

SEGA has been quite busy with the franchise as of late, with the original Yakuza game receiving a current-generation makeover in the guise of Yakuza Kiwami. In addition, fans of the gangster-’em-up series also have the next full-fledged entry in the brand to look forward to, with Yakuza 6 arriving in Japan later this year.
