Yakuza 3 tops 300,000 sales in one week

Toshihiro Nagoshi, lead producer for Yakuza 3, has revealed that the PS3 exclusive adventure sold through more than 300,000 copies in its first week on sale.

Japanese publication Famitsu estimates that the game shifted a massive 232,000 units on its first day alone at Japanese retail.

Yakuza 3 takes place in Kamuro-cho, the fictional setting for the original two games, and the real-world southern Japanese prefecture of Okinawa, with players once again assuming control of series protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu. Let’s hope Sega will see fit to give us westerners a tastes of the action.
