The playable demo for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will launch for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S today at 9.00pm PST, which translates to 12.00am EST on January 22, 2026 and 5.00am GMT.
Players will be able to sample both the events of Yakuza Kiwami 3 and the Dark Ties expansion in the demo, which offering a diverse range of locations and abilities. In Yakuza Kiwami 3, you can take to the streets of Ryukyu, Okinawa as Kazuma Kiryu, getting into rucks with local thugs and utilising the Dragon of Kojima and Ryukyu styles. Meanwhile, the Dark Ties demo gives you a chance to try out Yoshitaka Mine’s boxing combat while exploring Kamurocho. Save data won’t be transferable to the final version of the game, however.
Yakuza 3 was originally released for PS3 back in 2009 and follows Kiryu-san as he leaves the bustling streets of Kamurocho behind to run the Sunshine Orphanage in Okinawa, although he still finds time to mix it up with the local yakuza and become embroiled in another conspiracy that involves him duffing up legions of bad guys.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties launches on February 12, 2026 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
