Legendary former SEGA developer Yuji Naka has revealed that he’s now working as an indie games creator, having confirmed that he indeed left Square Enix earlier in the year following the critical and commercial failure of Balan Wonderworld.
Speaking on Twitter in response to birthday messages (Happy 56th birthday, by the way, Naka-san! Thanks for the memories), He confirmed that he’s gone back to coding and is currently working on a mobile project.
Thank you for your birthday messages, I’m 56 years old. I’ve recently started learning how to program again, and I’m working on a simple game for smartphones with Unity. I’m making it by myself, so it’s not much, but I’m enjoying programming it. I hope you’ll be able to play with the app when it’s available.
