MegaPixel Studios and Forever Entertainment have announced that The House of the Dead 2 Remake is launching for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 24, 2025. The game was previously released for PC and Nintendo Switch back in August, although it was a buggy mess; hopefully things have been polished up since then.
The House of the Dead 2 was originally released in the arcades back in 1998 and was soon ported to the Dreamcast, where it served as a launch title in the US and UK. The game takes place two years after the events of the original The House of the Dead, which was remastered for modern platforms a few years ago. Set in February 2000, The House of the Dead 2 sees AMS agents Jame Taylor and Gary Stewart battling zombies in an abandoned town in Italy, while uncovering a plot masterminded by the enigmatic Goldman.

This remastered version of the classic on-the-rails zombie shooter features enhanced music and visuals while retaining the original version’s gameplay, including solo and co-op play and branching story paths. In addition to the main campaign, you can take part in Boss Mode and Training Mode to improve your skills.
The House of the Dead was famously adapted for the big screen by notorious German director Uwe Boll in 2003, with expectedly disastrous results.
