Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has confirmed that Disney Pixar's "Cars" Blu-ray will launch alongside the release of "Ratatouille" (DVD and Blu-ray) and "The Pixar Short Film Collection" on November 6th of this year.
In case you have been living under a rock Cars is about a hot-shot race-car named Lightning McQueen who gets stuck in the small town of Radiator Springs, where he learns a great lesson about friends and family.
Ratatouille on the other hand is a cute "tail" about a rat who dreams of being the greatest chef in Paris. He teams up with a struggling kitchen boy and by working together they take a failing restaurant and return it to its old glory.
So far there are two known exclusive features for the Cars Blu-ray movie.
· Car Finder (Game): Allows viewers to search for over 200 models of cars hidden throughout the movie, and race against time to find specific cars in still frames during the film.
· Cine-Explore: Picture-in-picture video commentary by John Lasseter where he personally guides you through the making of the film while you enjoy the movie.
For the Ratatouille Blu-ray, here are the known special features:
· Gusteau's Gourmet Game
· Cine-Explore
· Exclusive short 'Your Friend the Rat'
· Deleted scenes
· Never-before-seen documentary with Brad Bird
On another note; Walt Disney Studios has announced that Sleeping Beauty will be the first platinum Blu-ray title in the fall of 2008.
