CryEngine 3 to be absolutely stunning

Every once and a while, a new crown jewel in the videogames industry emerges in the form of a swanky new game engine. Epic Games's Unreal Engine 3 is undoubtedly the most recognizable, having been used thus far in an unnumerable amount of titles.
Both critics and gamers praised the wide array of possibilities the engine opened up for the common player and developer alike. But in today's age of technology, it seems the sky is the limit for future generations. Now, the first step into said future has materialised in the form of the CryEngine 3, boasting substantially more fineness and technical prowess than its contemporaries:
"With its scalable graphics and computation it is next-gen-ready and with new features like CryEngine 3 Live Create the best choice for game developers and companies developing serious games applications alike," chimes Crytek bigwig Cevat Yerli.
"It is the only game engine solution that enables real-time development and can ensure teams are able to maximize their own creativity, save budget and create greater gaming experiences."
Check out a brief glimpse of the future below:

@9
well considering they already have the engine running on the consoles, all thats needed is for developers to use it. crysis 2 is already in progress and i'm pretty sure it will be out sometime next year, hopefully!
i would be quite happy if this was the engine every game was based on!
awesomeness! :D

@12, yes Crysis 2 will be going multi-platform
This engine will be used for this current generation of consoles so developers using this engine will provide graphics far superior then the games we have out today(Maybe with the exemption of Uncharted 2). I pray that this engine is used to its full capacity. Killzone 3 should be developed with this engine.

Uncharted 2 looks better? Well yeah, but to point out the obvious CryEngine 3 is open world, and Graphically it beats the competition hands down.

I cannot wait to see devs use this engine on 360 and PS3 it looks better than the unreal engine and they have even made sure it's easy to use too, Crysis surly must be coming to consoles I reckon thou it may be a completly different sort of game but CryTek will probably release one for consoles. If I remember rightly they own Eidos now could you imagine if they did the next tomb raider in this engine jesus it would be amazing.

LMAO @13,Yeah, the plastic looking people with UE3 isn't that appealing to me either. I always thought the engine was over rated. -

Awesome it looks to be a fantastic engine, very excited to see games use this in the future. Uncharted 2 comes to mind when i see this video (I know it's not made with CryEngine but uncharted 2 is right up there with it in terms of quality)

Yeah, I've seen videos of this engine in action, they could litteraly create a level on the fly and in seconds would have it updated on both the PS3 and 360, rendering the exact same code, just like that. It's pretty impressive in that regard alone, thown in all of the features you'd ever want in an engine topped off with superb visuals and you have a winner imo.
Crytek and CryEngine3 ftw.

Don't be so ready to believe so quick.. these are the EXACT same thing they used to say and show on the PC vids when the engine/game was about to come out on the PC.
Don't get your hopes too high up.. these people have a bad track record so far.
You buy a $3000-$5000 PC, just as the game was about to come out, and when the game drops it makes that computer, which they said would run the game like a dream, look like $hit and run like it too.
No thanks.. these guys are going to have to show 1 lvl worth of gameplay, or a PSN demo for me to believe.
I almost bought a PhysX card due to these idiots as well.. look how that turned out. (The game ended up not supporting it)
So they couldn't pull it off on a $3000-$5000 PC but they can on 2 consoles and with one of them being quite a bit inferior (Xbox 360)
Oh and something for you people to think about.
Crytek is in the Nvidia "The way its meant to be played" program for developing its game.. what that means is they work with Nvidia to help them make the game look and play better on Nvidia GPUs...
Xbox 360 has ATi and PS3 has Nvidia... sooo who do you think has the edge with better graphics, lol poor Xbox.

It might look nice and all but when the action and intensity kicks in the the frame rate is gonna be crap.

Looks impressive, but I'm calling bull5hit. Wasn't cryengine 2 supposed to be the next standard, yet notice how nothing came of it as far as consoles go? Vaporware as far as I'm concerned. Throw it in with WarDevil in the "forget-about-it" bin and call it a day. Some people let themselve be taken so easily.

This is why Crytek is always the best. Epic has been toted as the best for their reliable and opened engine, but there is no way UE3 can even touch the awesomeness of this. What now Cliffy B? Going to cry?

It's a shame that this engine's being wasted on the Xbox 360; just think how much better it would be if it didn't have to reduce its quality in order to cater to the inferior standards of the Xbox!
Oh, and I wasn't trolling. Don't remove my comment again.
