Debut Blur media stuns

The first screens and trailer for Activision Blizzard's Blur stun -- in more ways than one.
Blur is all about stunning opponents with electrical power-ups and weapons, as you can see in the game's debut screens and teaser trailer. The screens are, well, a bit blurry, but the car models look very slick. The whole game has a "stylized reality" feel, much like the recently revealed Tony Hawk: Ride (except, you know, with cars and such).
We've included the game's teaser trailer and a few screenshots below. To view all of the screenshots in a higher resolution, head on over to the Blur image gallery.

wow I can't believe how.... BAD that was. Seriously that game is about shocking each other? Yeah that's not going to get old at ALL! Look we've got plenty of good racing games out there. We should all go out and buy Grid, heck even Ferrari Challenge isnt so bad. But now adays you need a hook to draw people in who get tired of just "driving fast" ....this game? WTF is the point?
They've got a ways to go before this comes off as ground breaking.

Activision have high hopes for this and to be fair to Bizzare Creations I've loved all PGR games and MSR on the defunct Dreamcast. They've actually got quite a good pedigree when it comes to racing games actually but I agree this whole 'shocking' idea seems a bit of a gimmick and they'll have to go a fair way to actually convince me its actually a worth while gameplay element. I'll give them time though simply because they've succeded in the past. As for competition I was under the impression 'agressive' racing games had been done before, Full auto and h3ll even Burnout has elements of conflict, we've also got that Split Second coming out from Black Rock which has a similar looking vibe. Blur is going to release into quite a crowded market place to be honest when you think about it, there are plenty of arcade racers all the NFS, Burnout, SS, Motorstorm so on and so forth. But actual honest to God racing games without open world gimmicks and traphic, bombs explosions, take downs and mud? There aren't that many and its all I want fom a racing game, I'm feed up with Midnight Club, I've played Grid to death, GT5 can't come soon enough for the PS3.

I had PGR on my old Xbox, and it soon became tedious... the races were too few, and it eventually became no more than a series of cone challenges; more of an M25 simulator than a racer.
And to be perfectly honest, this doesn't look to be a patch on Split Second.

TOtally unimpressive trailer. That told me absolutely nothing about the game. So it has something to do with cars. Wow. . .. i'm so excited.
