Codemasters has already begun development of DiRT 2, with the promise of a much improved online mode.

Speaking to IGN, Matthew Horsman, Chief Designer of DiRT, stated that "All the stuff people didn't like about the first DiRT will be changed for DiRT 2," adding that "DiRT 2's online mode will offer a much more embellished experience so everyone will be happy."

The first DiRT was released only weeks ago on Xbox 360, and is debuting on PS3 this September. Codemasters has confirmed that a demo will be released on PlayStation Store before the game's release, and it will most like include different cars and tracks to those in the Xbox 360 demo.
