WOW!  Can anyone say Modern Warfare?

No.  I was a big fan of MoH way before COD so I'm glad to see that they have now decided to step up to the plate and give COD a run for it's money.  I hope that they've got a great story for single player and a really great multi-player as COD has.  If it's anything like MoH: Frontline then it will be great.  In the case of COD the pupil became the master - now it's time for MoH to teach an old dog some new tricks.

Frontline? Are you kidding me? That was the worst MoH I've played, enough to make me go COD all the way.

I'm not a huge fan of COD, but I do have it.  So I'm asking COD's mega fans, what could MOH do be better?  That answer is different to different people, I would guess.  Lemme throw out some things we may hear (not saying I want these, though):

    1) A longer Single Player (I think most people would agree with this.  The rest is sketchy)

    2) Customizing your Avatar's look? (Is that even a factor in an FPS?)

    3) Larger Maps?

    4) Vehicles? (MW2's limiting vehicles to basically firing from a Heli in the battle space was a good idea...for COD)

    5) More objective-based games (did you play the MAG beta?  Good gameplay elements there...)

Essentially, COD's focus on a small-space battefield (more like "battle area") is perfect for the ADD, which seems to be most people, IMO.  I think if you change anything from the formula (battlefield size, vehicles, etc...), you run the risk of killing the speed of COD for twitch junkies (which seems to be most people, IMO), and even I think that's not a good thing (for them).

One things for certain.  IT NEEDS TO RUN AT SMOOTH 60 FRAMES PER SECOND.  EA seems to hate doing that.

I never really liked the original Medal of Honours, they felt arcady compared to CoD. A lot of my mates played MoH online and I just couldnt get used to its fast pace, I suppose thats all changed now though. I'm looking forward to this installment though, it looks like they're going back to gritty realism, something I just can't get enough of.

    @2

No the MoH game set in the Pacific was the worst game.  So bad I can't even remember the name of it.  Short as well. I finished it the same day I bought it.  Also I'm not saying Frontlines was the best MoH - It's the one I liked the best.

    @3

You know what your talking about.  Nice comment.  Where COD is concerned, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."  The fans know what they like and COD delivers.  To make too many changes to the franchise is a mistake.  Leave the basics alone. Controls, gameplay and speed of the game should never be messed with.  They did that on GTA IV and it killed the game for me and quite a few of my friends.  There was nothing wrong with San Andreas so why make all the changes?  Before anyone comments graphics always have to be improved.  That's a no-brainer.

well i thought it lookes good and well the cod thing hey its a good idea whats wrong with using the new stuff just like 7 years ago every game was about ww2 so really they have made no chang they are just going with what the gamers like and the gamers are liking moddern war so yeah this could turn out to be a good game and larger maps i hate just my opinion that i like to play where if i die it dont take me forever to get back into the action cod maps are just fine for me cause you can snipe or run and gun but i think that they are gonna do good looks great to me

So far the Best MOH game I've played is Frontline The opening where you storm the Beach of Normandy was amazing and heart pounding.  After Frontline MOH went downhill but this looks great and I agree with #1 Marksman, Please have a great single player as well as a long one and Make sure the Online Multiplayer is great also.  Killzone 2 had a great Story Mode but fail short for the Online.

although they obviously stole a load of idea's from modern warfare, i do like to see they have sum pretty cool idea's of their own as well like that scene at the end there, overall i really doubt it'l take cod's crown but it might appeal to all the cod haters and hey, the cod series can only be better with some more competition breathing down its neck

I'm sure MoH will probably be a good or even a great game but come on, imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery has run it's course. It's not just with MoH but a perfect example Dante's Inferno some of these developers are not being innovative and sooner or later very game will look like a doppelganger. THOSE WHO MINE DON'T MATTER AND THOSE WHO MATTER DON'T MINE.

Lol, you're all forgetting how bad EA is.

This game will bring nothing to you. It's just a nice distraction for all you MW2 haters.

Trust me, when all is said and done, you will be kissing IW's feet again, because they have made a great game that just needs tweaking.

@15 Are you kidding me with "how bad EA is".  I'm playing through Dead Space again right now!  Awesome.  Medal of Honor Heroes 2 was one of the only on-line shooters for the Wii, and though it had it's problems, it worked really well for me when I was a Wii-only gamer.  I think this game has potential, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it.  I, for one, am not going to make up my mind about something before I even play it, but I think I'm a minority when it comes to predisposed opinions about games.

Finally, a modern war game with graphics that don't look like garbage.  Don't get me wrong, I love modern warfare 2, but the graphics are terrible on consoles.  i mean, seriously... 600p resolution?  That is not next-gen.

    • 4:52pm GMT - December 14th, 2009

lol @ people thinking they're copying modern warfare 2. people think mw2 is all original and stuff, and some things are, but moh has the potential to be all better. fanboys just can't accept that apparently.

Medal of Honor: Airborne for PS3 is easily the best WWII shooter I've touched, with BF: Bad Company 2 (Beta of course) being the best modern shooter, and then Killzone 2 easily taking the throne for futuristic shooting games.    Fighting in Afghanistan seems to be a radically new approach, I can't really think of any games being rooted in the brutal mountains of that country.  Being able to fight real enemies, rather than fairytale terrorists in Modern Warfare sounds like a nice change of pace.  Hopefully they create this game to our full expectations.

@2 Frontline was easily PS2's best shooter u idiot. COD has only become good since the new consoles, MOH used to be king.

Anyway looks good, different than COD (and i hope better cos MW and MW2 were too samey, online arcadey and too easy)

DICE are making the multiplayer which is AWESOME!!! because there the devs of bf games.

what i like about DICE is that they dont make cheap games.

sorry but mw2 is cheap, from the sounds to the graphics everything is cheap. LOL perks, COD is arcady.

bf is more realistic than arcady

MOH looks alittle more realistic than bfbc2.

I'm unsure. Falling behind COD's footsteps one would hope that it could learn a few things and make it better. I hope they make it better than COD and Killzone because i only have enough money to pick up the best games out there lol.

moh frontline was made by the majority of the team that makes up IW today. thats why it's still the best moh today. DICE are amazing developers and can only do good things with this game, but can they bring much more to moh without copying there own IP, i doubt it

COD fans should be happy about this... competition is always good for customers.  If MoH turns out to be good then COD will just have to put even more effort into their product and make an epic game.  I'm personally a MoH fan though.

Don't give me that. It's an American company and an American medal. We spell it "honor" here. It's not a matter of stupidity, it's a matter of differences between the ways we speak English.

Ok,  tell me how this is a MW2 copy other than being a shooter?  Theres only so many  time settings to choose from; past, present, and future.  If you put it this way, COD was a huge ripoff to Medal of Honor back in the day.

Looking forward to how this one turns out.

As you may not have noticed, that resulted from unnecessary changes to the English language. It's nothing severe, but the errors are still an insignificant 'blip' of annoyance.

I find it funny that in trying to mock me, you actually spell one of those words correctly. You must feel like such a fool now.

Im glad that they are making a new and more efficient medal of honor bc I really think that the call of duty games are getting kind of boring and they should stop for a while and then in a year or 2 they should then come back out with it bc then ppl would want the game more and cant wait a all to get it and it would be almost a number one seller!!!!!!!
