Bethesda’s critically acclaimed third instalment in the Fallout series has shipped a total of 4.7 million units across PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 since its launch late last month.

The post-apocalyptic RPG has already topped the charts in a number of countries, including the UK, where it successfully knocked Xbox 360 exclusive Fable 2 off the top spot following its release on October 31.

In addition, the company also revealed that first day sales of the title have been 57 per cent stronger than those of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, with the game having already outsold all previous entries in the Fallout series by a substantial margin.

Wow, this game has already outsold MGS4. Granted, it is on 3 platforms, but it's only been out a week.  Good for them, this game is great.

But, Bethesda needs to fix that glitches on PS3 version, like the notification issue. Coz, everytime someone logs in or out  it just freezes, very annoying......

MGS4 sold 4.3 or so million and fallout 3 SHIPPED 4.7 million(Take into account the holidays, hype, and multiple consoles it could very well outsell MGS4 by years end)

Truly epic game without a doubt, every gamer must try this title. So much replay value and game length you will not be finishing everything in this title any time soon thats for sure. Currently my favorite game.

Games like Oblivion and Fallout 3 are what I call, "The Ultimate Game" You do what you want, when you want, and how you want. These two games are number 1 and 2 on my list of best games I've ever played.
