Codemasters has revealed full multiplayer details for the upcoming Race Driver: GRID.
The highly anticipated racer will accommodate a total of 32 online race events featuring 80 circuits in all. Players will be able to compete against up to 12 racers online at any one time, and will be rewarded ranking points depending on how well you perform.
Every track and car class will be recorded by the online leaderboard, with the best performances recorded as ghost data, which you can then download and race in Test Drive mode.
Speaking on the damage modelling in the online portion of the game, Chief Game Designer, Ralf Fulton, commented, “Our wide range of motorsport disciplines, stunning locations and full damage 12-player races make for a uniquely spectacular race experience and our immersive new ranking system rewards player skill and deepens the challenge online.”
Race Driver: GRiD is due out on June 3 for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.

I really like the demo of this game and are considering buying it, however the online play seems to be flawed in the same way Gran Tris Prologue is. You can't set up private rooms and play your other playstation network friends which is stupid. It's all very well being able to race against other random people, but the best thing about online play is being able to play against your mates. You can scratch this off my list of games to buy if they haven't enabled this in the full game!
