Konami Investigating Silent Hill 2 Remake PS5 Performance Mode Issues Following New Update

Konami has acknowledged fresh issues with the PS5 and PS5 Pro versions of Silent Hill 2 following the release of update 1.07 last week, which was specifically designed to target lingering bugs when running the game on Sony’s high-end console.

While it has made some improvements, it also brought about some unwanted niggles when running the game on Performance Mode on PS5 and PS5 Pro. Konami is aware of the problem and shared the following message online:

We would like to confirm that we are aware of the recent issues affecting Performance Mode on PS5 and PS5 Pro in SILENT HILL 2 following Patch 1.07. Our team is currently investigating these issues and looking into potential solutions. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We’ll share more information as soon as it becomes available.]

Silent Hill 2 was released for PS5 and PC in October 2024 and by March of this year had sold five million copies worldwide. The game is a complete overhaul of the 2001 PS2 classic of the same name, and follows James Sunderland as he is called to Silent Hill by his deceased wife, Mary, who requests he visit their ‘special place.’ Upon arriving, he finds the town deserted and inhabited by grotesque creatures, and must explore the foggy streets, apartment buildings, hospital, and more to uncover the truth.
