Heavenly Sword: Hands On

(continued from previous page) ...and really experience the visuals on a transcendent level. With more than 7,300 animations, the game veritably comes to fruition on a life like realistic scale through a game's first use of Dynamic Parallax mapping. As you play the game, you undeniably feel as if you are meant to set out on an unforgettable path to change what is left, and make the future a better place for your clan.

Something not to be forgotten, aside from the flawless visuals, character detail and dramatic performance, is the audio. With every fighting move Nariko delivers, anyone with an adept skill at picking up nuances in sound can detect the reaction from the music. If she smashes the enemy’s body, a huge drum is heard that fits in very nicely to the music. If she flings the body to various other enemies, the music dramatically picks up in pace for a short while and soon rescinds into normality.

All of these features, orchestrated in perfect harmony, synthesize this game far from the apparently normal believable grasps of heavenly and into something unbelievable and extraordinary. Be prepared to experience a spiritual revelation with Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword.

I just downloaded the demo and it was SO F**** AWSOME. I played twice in English and Spanish. The voice acting was perfect. Can't wait for the game to come out.

Yea, from this short demo I can say that this is truly the first next gen feeling action game. It really pulls you in... from the scale of the environments, the cinematic action, excellent sound, & her awesome combat while fighting a dozen or so onscreen enemies at one time! Absolutely awesome.

The game looks and sounds good, but i don't like the fact you can't move the camera around. to me this game is just a side scrolling hack and slash. it reminded me of a game i played a long time ago. it was called double dragon. you could move up, down, left and right while fighting guys and scrolling to the right. At a sixty dollar price i want more control. you can't even jump to avoid enemies. to me this is not next gen, but pretty old school.

There are lots of games where you can't jump, but still they are pretty good. Residet Evil 4 for example.

Well whoever says this game isn't like GOW hasn't played GOW. It's totally the same. Mash buttons and kill. It does look pretty though.

Downloaded the game, played once, which didn't take long thank god, then promptly deleted. This game is like GOW except instead of being a totally kick a** Half-Diety, your a lame a** chick. I am never a fan of female main characters, and this game didn't wow me enough to play a whole game as one.

Downloaded the demo and loved it; my wife played it too and she loved it too :)   I do find it similar to GOW but then again, every game out there is similar to another game so can't really complain.  I do think they needed slightly more freedom to explore, hopefully the complete game will give you more of it.  Still, this is definetly a must have.
