Killzone 2 features cave spiders but no Helghan attack dogs?

To this day, it is still unknown whether or not the Helghan attack dogs from Killzone: Liberation will make a comeback in Killzone 2. However, we can reveal that one organic players will be facing off against is the giant spider.
In a recent gameplay video, there is a three second blip where the player encounters these creatures within a tunnel. As the player approaches the tunnel, these oversized arachnids scuttle across a stack of boxes and move to attack the squad.

Killzone 2 will be released on February 27.

Thank God. Other than MGS4, if there's any collector's edition I've wanted, it's probably KZ2.
Game looks phenomenal, IMO best shooter of all time up to this point. If they get the online right, that is.
This will be my first purchase of 2009, but I've got plenty of stuff to keep me busy until that time. *Looks at Valkyria Chronicles, LBP, Resistance 2 (not as much anymore)*

come on people. look at these pics. weve seen bigger spiders than this. this is not even considered big anymore (due to resident evil, resistance, and gears of war). that is a normal size spider (in the gaming world). think about it, if the spider was an actual size spider it would be invisible, so to make it visible they make it bigger, which i now considered normal (to the naked eye). when i read "Giant spider" i was hoping to see something like....idk.....300 feet

Flashjoker, not everything is huge scale like Resistance 2. You wanna know why Resistance 2 looks like shlt beside Killzone 2? It's those 300 foot monsters that you want to plague KZ2 with.

huh cool i'd take the spiders over attack dogs anyway, it's really awesome they are doing more things to make the planet and the enviroment more unique can't wait to see some bug gore heh heh heh :)

Girugamesh please read before you comment. i never said i WANTED giant spiders i just said that is not giant. the post say "Giant Spider" when it really isnt Giant. I never said I WANT GIANT SPIDERS. my whole arguement was "dont say it a GIANT SPIDER if is no bigger than the gun he's carrying. So please next time just read and dont assume -

I do agree...that is not a giant spider as far as video games goes...I was thinking something similar to the spider you fought on the first Devil May Cry.....now thats a giant spider.

This could be interesting, personally I think F.E.A.R 2 will be better than Killzone 2. Thats just my opinion though.

Flashjoker - well I assume because you say those spiders aren't giant, but if I ever saw a spider like that I'd shat myself. In real life, that's one HUGE A.SS SPIDER. I'd consider it giant XD

There is some special things you can use.. but its not like an airstrike.
Im not allowed to talk about but i can tell you its very fun if your able to let those things "fly" arround and shoot them. Its more a strategi thing and not a massacre action like in cod.

lol dogs are no loss :D Just think back in COD WAW .. those freaking dogs you get after 7 kills in a row are freaking annoying. Kills the fun when u get backstabbed by a 2 foot tall canine coming at the speed of light that always know where to find you XD Besides i can imagine bugs surviving helgan atmoshpere... but not dogs. Lol imagine the result. Some kind of freakish 4 legged beast thats freaking thin, 3 foot tall with a pair of yellow googles and some tubes... NEVA
