Konami "actively looking" into MGS4 on Xbox 360

Japanese investment research outfit Morningstar thinks Metal Gear Solid 4 could soon be appearing on Xbox 360. Is it true? Has hell officially frozen over?
The firm made its incendiary claim in a report on multiplatform release trends (handily summarized by IGN) published shortly after this year's Tokyo Game Show. A Konami public relations rep is quoted as saying "We're actively looking into a release for the Xbox 360."
Konami would make a killing by releasing the game on Microsoft's bork-prone bucket of tricks, no doubt, but let's not forget that series overlord Hideo Kojima has repeatedly dismissed the possibility of a port.
We've contacted Konami for comment. Watch this space.

Third party exclusives are a thing of the past. The PAST. THE PAST. It's all about the 1st party. If you need something to tell your fanboy within, remind your self that if all consoles have the exact same games (which they don't because Sony 1st party is boss), YOU have those SAME GAMES on a better, more versitile console. If someone teases you about having a PS3, tell them that to make yourself feel better.

I really dont care if it goes multiplatform, I just hate when games get made on the Xcraps 360 then ported over to our fine tuned machine and it looks and plays like crap. So just as long as developers keep useing the PS3 as leed design console Im fine if they dumb it up for the box. I really hate how M$ gets their hands in everyones pockets! I hate how critics say the PS3 is a head of its time, for crists sake Xcrap doesnt make the gameing standard. If anything the 360 is behind its time. This is the age of High Def not upconverting to HD. The 360 is really only a regular Xcrap with an upgraded DVD player, and ereyone bought into the hype of it being a completely new system. I hate the way gameing is going, they should all unite and make one Fing console.

Lol wtf what you mean 3rd party exclusives are a think of the past? You mean Only for sony cause 360 has alot of rpg exclusives. I doubt this and ff and ffs vs also lpb i can't see them going to 360 unless there on 6 or 7 disks

If they make this for 360 they're gonna have to go through the games code and take out all references to Sony, not to mention they would have to break it into quite a few discs. Do you think they would not use Konami ID on the 360 if they did make it for M$'s console?

Sorry but its just not happening Kojima is a man of art and anything that would require him to water down his master piece aint going to happen...Konami wouldnt risk upsetting Kojima because he might leave and take his Million Dollar IP with him

Hideo Kojima stated for a dozen times that MGS4 is impossible on XBOX360. I share the same feeling that 3rd party exclusives are a thing from the past. The only reason why xbox360 has more 3rd party exclusives than PS3 relies on how expensive it is to develop for PS3. Once XBOX360 is 1,5 year older and is easier to program than PS3, for a couple developers it's just no enough interesting to spend their money porting tittles to PS3. They rather develop new tittles. I don't own a XBOX360 and I don't plan do. I'm glad I'm a PS3 owner and I'm really sure PS3 will overcome 360 shortly... Eventhough they have more 3rd party exclusives than us. Just to reafirm, I really don't believe they're talking abuot MGS4.

not only that just about every cutscene have a big Apple computer in them not to mention the use of the Ipod in the game. nah this is a game that Sony deffenetly have to keep exclusive to PS3. i sware konami dont put a knife in loyed MGS fans after yall said it will not be on 360

Sony is to blame in this situation because they don't try to lock down their exclusive games like Microsoft. I think thats the reason we always have so many delayed games because our so called loyal third party developers are trying to find ways to make the games work on the 360 as well.

I wouldn't take to much into that. These are the same kind of people who said Killzone 2 was real time at E3 '05. They are just paid to know nothing, but push the games on the floor.

Nice find Legendary, I didn't think Kojima-san would let this happen. The cuts would be huge at any rate, the CG sequences alone would have to be butchered. I think Xbox pleasefixme fanboys are the ones who just won't let this rumor die no matter what. They NEED this game otherwise they can't spit their nonsense as much anymore. I'm almost certain Kojima is the only person left in Gaming who has principles.

Doubt it.
1) The xbox can not be able to support the engine because it does not have the cell.
2) There would be too many discs
3) Kojima said hiself he hates it when people ask him if its coming to xbox and he dismissed that, said it wouldn't, and would only proffer the console best sutible for the ame.
4) How much does Miscroft actually have to pay him to do that? seriously? it must be LOADS if they did. -

IF it were to happen, sunny would be listening to a zune, she unboxes a 360 elite, otacons laptop would be a plain laptop with vista stuff on the screen. Instead of an ipod it would be a zune snake would use for music there's too much to re-work in order for it to be ported to the 360.

not gonna happen, it will stay exclusive. it would have to be downgraded in so many ways so it would just be laughable. it's designed for ps3 only. and there will always be third party exclusives.

If I was Konami I put a half port on 360 just to make the money. Why not and I agree 3rd party exclusives are over. Microsoft making sure of this. One question though if Bluray really wasn't enough. What's dvd going to do for the game? In all screw it let xbots have it too. Just be glad it was done on PS3 first or it would've been watered down on content.

@33 so true I mean they had a hard enough time trying to fit the game on a 50 GB dual layered Blu Ray Disc and it seemed if Kojima wasnt strapped for time we could have seen an even more beautiful MGS on perhaps a 100gb dual layer disc but i digress how much work and down grading would Konami and Kojima Productions have to do so the 50GB Blu-Ray game can fit on the tiny 9 GB system Oh and the sound would also be downgraded as they couldnt fit the 5.1 dolby surround sound ....man thats alot of work,time,money for an inferior product .....actually it would probably sell and be critized just like ummm i dont know MGS2 SUBSTANCE

Number one, no this will not go to the 360. Even if it did, if I recall, all the Xbots claim the game has too many cutscenes and it's even that great. So I doubt they would even want it. Regardless, MGS5 may be mutiplat, but MGS4 will not go to 360. Stop trying to bring it up.

Why is PSU reporting misinterpreted news? Konami said because of the growing trend of the mutiplatform strategy amongst other developers, they "may" follow the same strategy with future Konami titles. *Translation* When MGS5 hits it might arrive day & date on PC/PS3/X360

I hate it when microsofts just knocks on every developers door that makes games for the ps3, then hypnotizes them with their money earned from windows xp, then later on developers will make games for them. i have a 360 also but i bought that and my ps3 because i wanted certain games on certain systems but if this happens i may just give up on gaming all together!!!!! i dont like how things are being done these days i miss the days when certain games were exclusive to certain systems

LOL they will have to dumb it down soo much, the Xbox 360 can only handle so much and MGS4 is just too much for the Xbox 360's little (non blu-ray thing). i think MGS4 is somewhere around 40 to 50 Gb's of memory, Xbox 360 can only handle around 30Gb i believe, so even if they do make it for the Xbox 360 we will always have the better version.
i wonder what it will be like dumbed down - almost makes me feel bad for microsoft, knowing there console comes in second for games like these. -

Microsoft is smart, I don't own a 360 but I been watching closely and so have many. To keep ahead of the pack what do you need to do. Woo over any developer that make a exclusive for Sony your bigest threat in your own market. They dropping the crap out of 360 price and it's dropping so fast and so low I afraid to buy in now because I think in a few months I can get one for 99.99 or 149.99. Rumors of a Bluray drive appeared on CNet. Microsoft is hard at work, while it's hurts me to say it but Sony being too coy. I'd bet my left arm that that 720 is right around the corner too. So those that are griping about Konami MGS4 port possibility. It's just business, nothing personal. Don't look at games like MGS4 going multiplat .Look for those sure games that 360 won't get like Killzone, gow, LBP those are the ones to hold to your sweet little heart as the reason you got a ps3. If a game this Gen is exclusive, it'll only be temporary unless own by Sony/Microsoft. Xbots don't gripe about Bioshock coming to PS3 they just want their Halo and we should be the same way.
