Mark Rein impressed by new 50 Cent title

We know that you probably read this title and said: "Not another April Fool's joke." We thought the same, however, apparently this isn't a joke at all. According to the developers at Swordfish Studios, Mark Rein came in to take a look at the game and was "blown away" by what he saw.
Game director, Julian Widdows thought that Rein was going to kill them for developing the game, but in the end it seemed like the complete opposite.
"When we heard he was coming we were like 'oh no, we're gonna get killed!' But he was over the moon, we're chuffed about it," stated Widdows. "We're obviously an Unreal Engine 3 licensee and he just came in for a visit and said 'oh my god, I can't believe you're working on this, it looks phenomenal'. That was it; it wasn't anything particularly formal, he came in to say hello to his licensees and was blown away by it. That was great for us."
Like most games showcasing the Unreal Engine 3, you're going to see the comparison to it and the Gears of War franchise, but Widdows feels that they are two entirely different games:
"It's very different to Gears," he said. "Obviously in it's look and it occupies a different part of the market. One of the very early decisions when we decided to include cover was that we didn't want it to be as tactical as Gears. We wanted to show that you can be in open ground, you can charge people down. Did he give us any tips? No he didn't."
With the extremely disappointing 50 Cent title already on the market, it felt as though gamers were going to be subjected to yet another mediocre game to follow it up. Fortunately, this doesn't look to be the case at all. If it can impress Mark Rein, then it may impress the rest of us as well. We're definitely interested to see a lot more information around this title and we'll keep you up to date if anything else is released.

psn id: gingo.... @ wufei..... he is the head of Epic Games which you probably know make Gears of War and the Unreal Tournament games, they also license the Unreal engine to most companies so more than likely u've played a game run on their engine...as for why u should care? i dont have a clue lol thts up to u

pretty impressive looking screens the tats look realisitc as well as the face and skin and all. I was deeply disappointed by the first 50 Cent game I returned it same day. This one will be a rental then if I like and im impressed ill buy it.

ill wait for videos and probaly reviews, but the game does have potential to be good. honestly. no april fools joke. i really hope they pull it off, because the first one sucked. i also hope they delay this game until 2009 so they polish it more and so i dont have to buy the game this fall if it is good, because i have so many other games to buy.

Good thing I base all my opinions around what Mark Rein thinks. [/sarcasm]
I'm sure there are better games to spend my money on.

Not sure if Mark was out partying the night before hand, but he should lighten up on sipping that potion too hard. There's no accounting for tastes. Garbage is garbage like that idiotic-so called rapper the game is based on and the game in general. There's no way on GOD's green earth I would give this guy my last dime, penny or whatever else I might have in my pocket. The game is B.S. just like he is. He needs to walk out of the game while he still can walk out.

Mark Rein, I know him from somewhere. Oh that's right...........bs. The same guy that was talking crap about the PS3, but "his" game was coming out so he had to turn around and talk good about it or the game wouldn't sell. I don't believe anything this punk says. Probably got money under the table from "the big man" himself to make the game sound good. Sorry 50, you won't be getting $50 from me. ($60 really)
