Media Molecule: LittleBigPlanet impossible on 360

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Media Molecule's Alex Evans has declared that LittleBigPlanet could not have been made for Xbox 360. Or not in its present form, anyway.
This fact is as much down to Media Molecule's platform focus as it is the unique selling points of the PlayStation 3. "With LBP as it is," Evans explained, "We couldn't have made it on the Xbox 360 and the reason for that is actually because we designed it around the PS3's strengths."
"In other words, if you're a game designer, from day one you know your platform, and you just cane it on that platform," he went on. "You're not worrying about cross-platform, you're not worrying about anyone else's hardware design."
Evans cited the inclusion of a hard drive with all PlayStation 3 models as a crucial factor. "If we didn't have a hard drive on every unit, we'd have to scale back the ambition of what you could save and do."
He was careful however not to appear critical of Microsoft's console. “The 360 is an incredibly capable machine, and you could make a user-generated content game on it, no question - just as you could make one on the PS2 or the Megadrive, or any platform. But because we picked our platform, you go and you use every available bit of space, every little processor cycle.”
LittleBigPlanet is out in October on both sides of the Atlantic, where it joins a sparkling list of PS3 exclusives. More info as we get it.

It is good to hear that this developer chose the ps3 for a change as the lead platform. I wasn't aware it was part of Sony but lol I guess Number 3 comment is correct it probably could be made on 360 just a PR stunt. Still I can't wait to try this game no doubt MS may try and come back with something to rival it but I doubt it this time. I can't wait to get this game...as soon as I get my broken ps3 replaced...lol
I am also pleased that Dead Space my next game purchase next month is being developed on the PS3 as the lead platform since it won't suffer the same fate as other ports to ps3.

yer everybody not possible on the 360 coz the game is 9GB and cannot fit on a 360 game disc nar just joking xD tho everytime i hear 'not possible on the 360' i think of the blu-ray extra disc space is the reason y nothing really else than that. harddrive yes that another reason but i don't like games eating away at my harddrive space and i'm not upgrading unless i really have 2.
anyway i want more game dev's 2 make more games just for the ps3 so far ps3 only games are so good when just develop for it unlike when there cross-platform wrecks the game i'm talking about u gta 4 u no how many ps3 owners would of brouhgt u 10 of millions just 2 show to the 360 fanboys and also how much better the game would of been -

Most games on PS3 are possible on 360. Most games on the 360 are possible on the PS3.
This is why I hate when they say stuff like this geez.
BTW out of the people that own a PS3 10 mil of them would probably not buy GTA4. Cause 90% of the PS3 owners now are like hardcore 10% are everything else. Which means most would go after FPS games.

Wasn't there a day when it was said that ff13 would be impossible on 360? But glad that this baby is staying exclusive to PS3 and hope it stays that way!

cpu usage is not as powerfull on the 360,no hard drive,no blu ray.what this guy is saying is that it could go on the 360 but it would be a different game,it would be a poorer version of the ps3 one. ps3 is best for getting the most out of a game which makes me mad when things go multi plat, its clear things have to be toned down to fit on the 360.all games being ps3 exclusive is the only way to go

I have always known that the lack of a hdd on every xbox360 would be a draw back for microsoft. That is what you get for trying to release your console as early as possible. A year or more for the 360's development would have been beneficial to microsoft; no RRoD and a great machine.

Bottom line: if it weren't a first party title, some money hungry jackoff woulda dumbed LBP down to 360 level until it was just a slightly customizable Mario game. I'm stoked about in-house games by sony because I always pick them up and they totally PWN anything M$ has to offer. After this I'd love to see an in-house RPG. Sony knows we want one and they won't pay to keep exclusives sooooo cmon guys. If I were sony I'd be camped out outside the headquarters of certain companies poking the M$ guys holding money briefcases with a stick. Ya can't swing a dead cat without hitting a stolen exclusive these days, at least this one is staying put.
